The other day an old memory rose to the surface that I hated to recall. It was a memory of a time I desperately wanted to forget. I didn’t dwell on it, since God has forgiven me, but I felt it was good ground to cover here, because there may be someone who needs to take back ground from the devil.
As I waited for scriptures to come to mind, I was overwhelmed, recalling one after another. So I began filling the boxes with scripture after scripture. The vision I saw was how shame leads us to hide in the darkness. This is where the devil gets in our ear and reminds us of our sins. But, over and over we are told of God’s light.
So, instead of filling the page with my comments, I want to bring you through my vision in the words of scripture. I pray as you read the inspired word of God, he will lead you out of the darkness back into the light of his presence.
The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.
John 1:4-5 NLT
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
1 Peter 5:8 NLT
“God did not send his Son into the world to judge and condemn the world, but to be its Savior and rescue it! The Light of God has now come into the world, but the people loved darkness more than the Light, because they want the darkness to conceal their evil.
John 3:17, 19 TPT
And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?” And he said, “I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.”
Genesis 3:8-10 ESV
If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me; Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You.
Psalms 139:11-12 NKJV
He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
Psalm 103:10-12 ESV
And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God.”
Revelation 12:10 ESV
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
James 1:17 NKJV
The Father of lights shines in our lives so brightly no shadow remains. Don’t let the devil accuse you of anything in your past that has been brought into the light. Remember why Jesus came.
Grace & Peace,
Sandy
