Nothing, anything, and everything. These are the things of God we’ll discover today.
First in line are the positive and negative poles of nothing. That’s right, you heard me. I’ll show you what I mean, starting with the negative—
For apart from me you can do nothing.
John 15:5 NLT
The me in this scripture is Jesus. When we try to do our thing without him, we can do nothing—no-thing. I hope this is not your thing.
There is a positive nothing in scripture—
For nothing will be impossible with God.
Luke 1:37 ESV
Now we’re cooking with gas. Here, the key word is with, and the who is God. When we are with God nothing will be impossible—no-thing. So if nothing is your thing, this is a great choice.
Next in line is anything—
Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!
John 14:14 NLT
Once again the me is Jesus and “in my name” is parallel to “with God.” How cool is that? Anything—any-thing! This can be your thing.
One last thing to look at: everything—
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life.
2 Peter 1:3 NLT
Can you catch the thing I’m throwing out there? Whatever your thing is, the thing you need is a relationship with God. He’ll provide everything—every-thing else.
Grace & Peace,
Sandy
I like this one, however I like most of them too. 😉
