To be honest, my first title for this post was going to be Weary, Dreary, and Teary. That pretty much describes me this week. Fortunately for you, I will save you from the recounting of my misery. (For those who don’t know, I’m two weeks post op with a broken wrist.) Instead, I want to share with you the encouragement God plops down in front of me.
First off, during the week I’ve had half a dozen phone calls, FaceTime, and text messages from friends and family, checking in on my physical healing and mental well-being. This doesn’t include the in-person encouragement I received. I should be ashamed that I still woke up struggling. (No. No one should be ashamed of their feelings. Feelings help us know how we’re doing.)
Then, this morning I was reading my email and this scripture was quoted:
Stay with God! Take heart. Don’t quit. I’ll say it again: Stay with God.
Psalm 27:14 MSG
Oh, I needed to hear that! When things feel like they’ll never get better or they’ll never be the same, this reminds me God’s in it for the long-haul. He’ll lift me up and get me back on track. So many scriptures come to mind, but I want to keep this simple and encouraging.
This last encouragement refocused me. This song played on the radio: Brandon Lake’s – Gratitude. If you need a moment to just sit in God’s presence and release all your worries, I encourage you to click the link, quiet your soul, and listen.
Grace & Peace,
Sandy
