My Well is Not Dry

Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

John‬ ‭4‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭ESV

My well is not dry. Some days my feelings don’t latch on to that truth. Since Friday, I have been physically, mentally, and emotionally drained dealing with a pinched nerve in my neck, a sinus headache, and endless amounts of rain and gray skies. I skipped writing my blog on Friday and was tempted to skip it again today.

I feel defeated.

But, my well is not dry. Why? Because within me dwells the Holy Spirit. (1 Cor. 6:19.) He will slake my thirst.

Then on the most important day of the feast, the last day, Jesus stood and shouted out to the crowds—“All you thirsty ones, come to me! Come to me and drink! Believe in me so that rivers of living water will burst out from within you, flowing from your innermost being, just like the Scripture says!”

Jesus was prophesying about the Holy Spirit that believers were being prepared to receive. But the Holy Spirit had not yet been poured out upon them, because Jesus had not yet been unveiled in his full splendor.

John‬ ‭7‬:‭37‬-‭39‬ ‭TPT

My well is not dry. Though the enemy of my soul would like me to believe it is. He’ll take advantage of every pain and every gray sky to draw my attention away from God. But the Water (Holy Spirit) is always available to me, the source is eternal. Sometimes the Water bubbles up, overflowing, but sometimes the Water lays deep and still and I need to lower my bucket to draw it up.

The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring.

Isaiah‬ ‭58‬:‭11‬ ‭NLT

This is God’s promise.

Don’t let the enemy feed you a lie. Your well is not dry — if you have faith in Christ Jesus. He was crucified for you, and rose again, sending the Holy Spirit to dwell within you, the living water that restores and strengthens you.

Thank you for being my readers. I may not always bubble up with inspiration, but I will always draw deep for you.

Grace & Peace,

Sandy
