He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.

Psalms‬ ‭23‬:‭3‬ ‭NLT

I was reading through Psalm 23 today and this verse caught my eye. When we are walking with God, not only does He provide all the benefits listed in this psalm, but we bring Him honor by doing so. It happens organically.

For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].

Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭10‬ ‭AMP‬‬

It happens harmoniously, as we follow His Spirit within us.

Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go.

Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭TPT‬‬

When we trust Him to lead and guide us, we can be confident that we are glorifying Him.

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬-‭16‬ ‭ESV

Glory and light are sometimes interchangeable. His glory is our light and when our light shines, His light is seen by those around us.

We all can shine.

Every believer has received grace gifts, so use them to serve one another as faithful stewards of the many-colored tapestry of God’s grace. For example, if you have a speaking gift, speak as though God were speaking his words through you. If you have the gift of serving, do it passionately with the strength God gives you, so that in everything God alone will be glorified through Jesus Christ. For to him belong the power and the glory forever throughout all ages! Amen.

1 Peter‬ ‭4‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭TPT‬‬

“This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine!” How about you? Maybe you’ve doubted that God has a path for you, but I’m here to tell you, have faith, walk in confidence. He will guide your steps. He will be honored and glorified.
