Are you a To Do List person? Do you like making a list and checking things off? I usually turn to lists when I’ve been sitting around for a week and finally berate myself into accomplishing something. But where do our lists come from? Are the items on your To Do List merely household chores? Are they projects you’ve been longing to finish? Or goals you’ve aspired to?

What if I told you God has a list?

You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed and placed and purposefully planted you, so that you would go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit will remain and be lasting, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name [as My representative] He may give to you.
‭‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭16‬ ‭AMP‬‬

His overarching list starts with—go and bear fruit. We see it stated another way like this:

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

And let’s not forget one of the more popular scriptures:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29‬:‭11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

God has a plan and a purpose for our lives, He has things He wants on our To Do List and it seems to me, that the best way to find out what those things are, is to ask Him.

Do any of you need wisdom? Ask God for it. He is generous and enjoys giving to everyone. So he will give you wisdom.

Asking God for wisdom as we fill in our To Do Lists will align our tasks with His eternal viewpoint, making the most of our days.

So be very careful how you live, not being like those with no understanding, but live honorably with true wisdom, for we are living in evil times. Take full advantage of every day as you spend your life for his purposes.

I tend to fall on the “said” side of the saying, “easier said than done,” but I’m going to put “asking for wisdom” at the top of my To Do List more often going forward.
