Jump Starting the New Year

Well…

I had every intention to start this year running, but the first week I felt like a drained battery, sidelined with a cold.

Today I’m charged and my week is lined up with all the new things I signed up for plus all the regular things starting back up again after the holiday break.

I told my husband it feels like that first step onto an escalator, the first step is tentative and scary, but then you’re up and running.

Already today I’ve worked through one workshop, had a Zoom call meeting with my new coach for another workshop, and signed up for an email server (more information coming soon on that.)

Plus my mind is on fire with so many blog post ideas, I decided to table those for the next few weeks. And last but definitely not least, today was the first for many following the 21 Day Prayer & Fasting event.

On that note, let me share what I wrote as my prayer this morning. I pray that I will learn to pray with faith, expecting answers that will be more than I can imagine.

I have been on the pendulum swing from the “name it and claim it” era to the don’t ask and you won’t be disappointed camp. I know there has got to be a better way. The prayer I prayed this morning was based on this scripture:

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.‬‬

Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭20‬ ‭NLT

That is the God I serve! He is not limited to the words I speak in prayer. He has bigger answers and bigger plans than mine, so I’m opening up my heart to yield all my plans to God. Here is another verse God gave me today:

Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This fits right in with my word for the year—pursue. Sitting around waiting for my life to happen has been less than productive, but can I sustain my active pursuit of God’s will? I hope so. I mean, I know I can’t on my own. That’s another scripture from the Bible plan I’m reading.

“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”‬‬

So that’s my goal—remain connected.

I pray that for you too. Here’s hoping for great things in 2026.

Grace & Peace,

Sandy
