The topic of our recent sermons in church have been about the Holy Spirit. Having been attending a Foursquare church for over 21 years, I am never surprised when the Holy Spirit gives me a new insight into an old scripture, but I am always thankful. I know experientially, that the Word of God is living, and I understand the importance and power of accurately interpreting scripture. With that understanding, I want to share another insight I received during our worship service.
Romans 8:28
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
“God causes all things to work together for good” – has always related to events in my understanding. As I have been learning about my health and the delicate balance of all the systems in my body, I’m surprised that I am as healthy as I am and not more of a mess with all the disregard, and toxic insults thrown at it. But while I am beginning to do my best to correct the errors of my ways, God, by way of the Holy Spirit, shows me He is working all things together for good in me, inside my very cells. Beginning with His created design (I am fearfully and wonderfully made,) in process (in Him I live and move and have my being,) and to completion (He who began a good work In me will perfect it.)
There is no power greater than that of my God! I am not alone in this world, I am not meant for condemnation, I am meant to be a witness of His Glory, and a participant in it by the working of His Holy Spirit!
My prayer for you today is that your heart would be touched by the power of the Holy Spirit. And I leave you with the first verse of one of my songs:
Touch me Lord, where I am deeply wounded.
Touch me Lord, though I come to you afraid.
Here inside, though I feel that I may crumble, I am truly humble,
Lift me high!
Beautiful!
