Don’t you love when the Holy Spirit gives you confirmation? I had already decided to write about this subject when my daily Bible plan brought this scripture:
Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Each day proclaim the good news that he saves. Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.
1 Chronicles 16:23-24, 34 NLT
I have been seeing a wellness coach over the last few months and each time she offers suggestions and I write goals that I want to reach over the two weeks until our next appointment. Some goals I manage to reach the first time, while others take more commitment than I originally expected.
Her advice is to take small steps that are sustainable. My goal in seeing her is to live a healthier lifestyle so I can enjoy the fall and winter seasons of my life.
So far my focus has been on diet, exercise, and being more active. But this last time she recommended I write down three things I’m grateful for every morning. And you know what? I’m having trouble limiting myself to just three.
Of course, I have scriptures for you.
O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; For His compassion and lovingkindness endure forever!
Psalms 107:1 AMP
Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!
Psalm 100:4 ESV
Always give thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 5:20 ERV
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
James 1:17 ESV
Keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always.
Philippians 4:8 TPT
There are so many scriptures reminding us to always be thankful that I had to decide these were enough. I’ve only had three days of journaling what I’m grateful/thankful for, but I’m already appreciating starting my day with a positive attitude.
What small steps can you take to live a happier and healthier life? Are there three things you are grateful for today?
Here is my list from this morning. 1. Fluffy Finn; 2. Silky Meg; and 3. Flowers. (Finn and Meg are my dogs, and I have two orchids that have bloomed.)
Grace & Peace,
Sandy
