Understanding, Uncovering, and Under the shadow of His Wings.
I needed some help with U, and I knew just where to find it.
Ephesians 1:18-20
New Living Translation (NLT)
18 I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.
19 I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power 20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.
Philippians 1:9-10
New Living Translation (NLT)
9 I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. 10 For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return.
This season in my life has been woven with times of learning to Understand more and more of God’s character and how he sees me and what he thinks of me. I’ve come to know his patience, his grace, his loving-kindness, and – well – the list goes on and on. Suffice it to say I am enthralled in this softer side of God. There is so much to know about God that I will never in this lifetime come to understand everything about him, but one thing I put my trust in is that he totally understands me. There is nothing about me that surprises him and nothing I can do that will stop him from loving me. Not only does he understand me, but he understands the process. He knows how to get there from here!
Colossians 3:2-3
The Voice (VOICE)
2 Stay focused on what’s above, not on earthly things, 3 because your old life is dead and gone. Your new life is now hidden, enmeshed with the Anointed who is in God.
This scripture has popped up in my mind a few times whenever I try to imagine what my life should look like. Look what it says: “Your new life is now hidden!” My life is hidden, hidden in Christ. I really have to stop and think about it every time I read this verse. It actually gets me excited. I may not be able to see what my life will be like, but Jesus has it covered, he knows exactly what my new life looks like because he has it hidden in him. So that is what I mean by Uncovering, it is this process of learning and understanding which is uncovering who I really am. The past doesn’t define me. The real me is being revealed the more I abide in Jesus.
Psalm 36:7
The Voice (VOICE)
Your strong love, O True God, is precious.
All people run for shelter under the shadow of Your wings.
I still need times Under the shadow of His wings. His ability to help me feel safe, loved and cared for is priceless. To know he can shelter me – I’m just imagining curling up in his lap with his arms wrapped around me and all I can do is sigh. There is nothing like being held by God. He is both, safe and comfortable, as well as, strong and formidable. The words of a song are going over and over in my head – “You will be safe in his arms, you will be safe in his arms, ‘cause the hands that hold the world are holding your heart…” (Phil Wickham – Safe)
I pray U for you!
A good post Sandy … a good post indeed!
