Have you ever had a day when your mind feels dull and you just don’t want to consider anything hard? Today is that day for me. So instead of starting my day writing my blog I finished reading a novel.
Still, when I was finished, I truly wanted to write, but was uninspired. So I turned to the last scripture that was on my Bible app. It was on Psalm 105. I read it and found some good options to write about, but they didn’t feel like they clicked. I went on to Psalm 106 then 107 and found what I was looking for.
There it was, the passage that touched my state of mind.
Some of us once wandered in the wilderness like desert nomads, with no true direction or dwelling place. Starving, thirsting, staggering, we became desperate and filled with despair. Then we cried out, “Lord, help us! Rescue us!” And he did! He led us out by the right way until we reached a suitable city to dwell in. So lift your hands and thank God for his marvelous kindness and for all his miracles of mercy for those he loves.
Psalms 107:4-8 TPT
I was feeling like I was in a desert, dry and barren. But I’ve learned to turn to God in my barrenness. He always shows up.
I looked through the rest of the psalm and noticed a pattern. No matter how desperate your situation, God is at the ready. Not only will He rescue you, He will restore you and give you a testimony to help others find a safe haven.
Can you find yourself in these scriptures?
Some of us once sat in darkness, living in the dark shadows of death. We were prisoners to our pain, chained to our regrets.
Some of us were such fools, bringing on ourselves sorrow and suffering all because of our sins.
Some of us set sail upon the sea to faraway ports, transporting our goods from ship to shore.
Psalms 107:10, 17, 23 TPT
I encourage you to read the whole psalm. I pray you will be encouraged, either to know God is there for you, or to share what He has done for you.
I want to end with the beginning:
Let everyone give all their praise and thanks to the Lord! Here’s why—he’s better than anyone could ever imagine. Yes, he’s always loving and kind, and his faithful love never ends. So, go ahead—let everyone know it! Tell the world how he broke through and delivered you from the power of darkness and has gathered us together from all over the world. He has set us free to be his very own!
Psalms 107:1-3 TPT
