B is for…

Day 2 – It’s funny how if you give yourself some focus how it opens up the floodgates! I’ve been mulling over all the letters I’ll need to describe all the good changes I’ve made. LOL. It really does make me laugh. I was thinking this was going to be hard, well it is, only in a different way. I was thinking I haven’t made enough changes to make it through this challenge; the truth is I’m discovering there are more than I thought. Maybe I’m a little premature, since I’m only on the second day, but truly it has stirred me up and got me all excited to share!

B is for several things, and these are not in any chronological or order of importance – just as they come to mind: Bacon! This really sounds counterintuitive, since obviously bacon is not good for you, right? But bacon has been a positive change in my life. It has to do with switching up my diet, (and here is where it gets tricky because I’ll have to reveal some future “letters”) from eating a breakfast usually filled with grains, to one with fats and proteins, my favorite of which is bacon! Now here is my interpretation of what works for me – I don’t buy bacon with added nitrates or nitrites. It is more expensive, but as I progress through my other changes, you’ll see it has its worth. (On a side note, bacon is part of an inside joke that came about from an A word I missed: Awaken. Now I smile and laugh every time I say the word! Bacon! Tee hee!)

B is also for Bone Broth. Again part of my change of diet, I discovered the beauty of homemade broth. It is amazingly flavorful, simple, versatile, and good for you! It’s been a few weeks since I’ve made some and I’m making myself hungry just writing about all this good stuff!

B is for my new Blender, too! Since I’m making so much from scratch now, my old blender just wasn’t cutting it. I have yet to try making the almond milk in it but I made myself a smoothie and it was actually smooth! Here are the ingredients I used this time: Frozen banana, fresh blueberries, almond milk, cinnamon, ginger, and a touch of vanilla. Yummm! No leftover chunks of banana in the bottom and the blueberry seeds were not noticeable. Thank you, Honey, for the great Christmas present!

B is for Beauty and Blessings. If you follow my blog, you know my struggles with anxiety and depression, but I have more ways around it now and two of them are focusing on what is beautiful and what are my blessings. I find it hard to believe I have even been able to see the beauty in myself, even my funny feet! This is something that has taken me years to see. And if blessings were money, I am a millionaire!

And now even if I’ve reached my 500 words, I have one more B word to add: Blogging. I have been blogging for over 2 years now and I love it! I am thankful for everyone who takes the time to read my blog and I consider each of you as one of my many blessings!

  1. Sandy,
You’re only on Day Two, and you’re really rolling!
Making me wish I would have taken this challenge, too.
By the way, B is also for “Breakfast” !
