30 Days to Happiness: L Is for Listen
I thought this post was excellent! It made me want to go find someone to listen to, to see how I’m doing.
L is for
Listen
and
laughter,
but first things first. My guide word, “listen” reminds me to pay attention to what others are saying. I especially try to practice this when my husband, Larry and my youngest son, Jay are telling me things. Learning to listen is going to lead to greater happiness for me and for those I love. It will also have a positive effect on everyone I am listening to because it shows respect and gives value to people. Talking comes so naturally to us because there is a running conversation going on in our head all of the time. All we have to do is open our mouth and our thoughts are sure to come out. This is sometimes how we end up with our “foot in our mouth.” Learning to listen can be extremely beneficial as it requires our mouth to be closed and our…

Gracious Love
I committed to my friend, Darla, that through the month of April I would email her everyday as I work on writing a 30 day devotional. The scripture and insight for today I want to share with you all. 1 John 3:1-2, 11, & 18 The Voice (VOICE) 1 Consider the kind of extravagant love …
Here With Me
You may have noticed I have been going through a rough patch. I have been doubting myself and my ability to share anything here that would matter. I've been challenged with a bout of anxiety, depression, and SAD. Yet, there is still a battle going on inside that fights to be heard, to quiet the …
Being a Firework

(The Amplified Bible reads: “instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit…”) People will …

Fatigued, Frustrated, and Failing
Sometimes being open about your life means sharing the mess. My goal is to encourage others, but today I will remember that it's okay to need encouragement. Matthew 5:45 - "...For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike." (NLT) I …
Crashing Head On Into The Future
My last quick post was just to let you know about my crash, but now I'm further into the story and have a bit to tell you. First more pictures: The accident began a stress filled week for me! I took a week of my vacation, and cancelled my birthday party because the snow was …
Crushing or Crashing?
So I really wanted to invite everyone to try this Valentine's challenge that we got in our buletins last Sunday. See pic: I thought this was a great idea, especially since my birthday falls into this week. (The "crushing" in my title refers to my crush on my husband!) But then when I was on …
